Thankyou to all the people from around Australia who have family & friends in town
 who have been sending their thanks on my "anonymous" free service over the Flood period.
You would not believe some information I was getting during the "event" out here.
ie it's going to be bigger than 98, x heard it was y high in town, those houses they showed with their roofs exposed were in x area.
There is a 5 metre wall of water still coming down the gorge. etc etc
They were things that I didn't mention in my stats, as I felt the internet was informing me sufficiently with the data records I was keeping from the river stations & the ABC Radio reports. Combined with "historical data on the 98 flood.
I know that the TV news will not show Katherine East high & Dry, you will mainly see the worst hit homes along Northbank (same roofs over & over again)
Comparing the Gorge Data with Bridge data (rough as guts but it worked for me) (would I place money on it...no way)
Knowledge that the painted levels on the bridge are not accurate, so a factual report of 17.5 metres turns into a sighted 18m within 30 minutes (Oh my it is now rising at 1 metre an hour) (No it is'nt)

A regularly updated working 1800 number with 2 hourly updates would of been the most useful tool for the general public, so you could call up the latest facts (and not ring out). Not a 6 or 8 hour update.
The ABC radio coverage was fantastic, the BOM river heights (water resources data) a life saver.
